The weather didn’t look too bad on Tuesday so I decided to risk visiting Dyrham Park, I try to do shorter visits to places in the colder months as wrapping up in the many layers necessary restricts my movement and sitting in a wheelchair can become very uncomfortable when you are so bundled up.
Last week I saw a picture on Twitter of St. Edwards Church in Stow-on-the-Wold, it looked like something out of a fairy-tale so I did some research and found out some people think it was the inspiration for Tolkien’s entrance to Moria! The next day I headed for Stow-on-the-Wold and took some pictures of the church, after this it occurred to me that I lived in the middle of Tolkien country and there must be lots of places nearby that inspired Tolkien’s stories. So finding Middle Earth has become my project over the winter, I’ll be travelling around trying to take some fantasy style pictures of Tolkienesque places, maybe I’ll spot some Hobbits on my journey, I just wish I had a grey wizard to guide me.
After the drama of the first few days in hospital things did slowly improve, there was still the constant worry I’d have another angioedema episode, or that they would need to cut the open, but there was light at the end of the tunnel and I was starting to think I would really get home soon.
I hadn’t had an unplanned hospital stay in my entire adult life, I had hoped I would never need to be admitted in an emergency, unfortunately this has all changed.
My Goddaughter bought me tickets for Star Wars Identifies at The O2 in London for Christmas, last week I went and it was great.
I’ve managed to process the Photographs taken in London during my stay at The Royal Brompton, it helped me relax after my week away.
My final morning at the Royal Brompton hospital and return home.
I didn’t sleep great last night, it was cold and not particularly quiet on the ward, I woke at around 8am and didn’t see the point in going back to sleep so after my ECG and obs we headed out. Today we went to the Natural History Museum, it was a bit too cold to[…]
Today I managed to lay in a bit which I really needed, the hospital is very quiet on weekends and everyone seems much more relaxed. After my obs and ECG I headed out to the museums, typically today it was several degrees colder than it has been so I was rather cold by the time[…]
Today was a lot less busy which I really needed, I was pretty shattered last night and today. I was up reasonably early as the Occupational Therapists were due at ten and I needed to be hoisted into my wheelchair before that. The Occupational Therapists didn’t take too long, they checked my position and gave[…]
I slept very well on the Nippy 3+ only turning a couple of times, I was awake for a bit between 4 and 5 or so but that’s pretty normal even at home.
